In the heat of of the afternoon women prepare dried fish for market on Negombo beach in the west of Sri Lanka. Working in temperatures in the high thirties they take shelter from the blazing sun under colourful sheets that flap in the warm breeze.
The Seema Malakaya Buddhist Temple sits on an island in Beira Lake at the heart of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Designed by Geoffrey Bawa, the temple and meditation centre consists of Thai bronze Buddhas, a Bodhi tree and four Brahmanist images.
