Lydford Gorge is the deepest river gorge in the South West of England. Running south west from the picturesque village of Lydford, the gorge is a one and a half mile wooded chasm which has been cut into the slate rock by the River Lyd.
The Finch Brothers Foundry, established in 1814 and closed in 1960, was renowned for making Edge Tools and Shovels in Sticklepath, Devon.
