On the North West edge of Conygar Hill near Dunster lies a 18th Century folly called The Gatehouse. It comprises of a curtain wall, two arches and two unroofed towers. It was built as an enhancement to the landscape in Conygar Wood by Richard Phelps for H.F. Luttrell, the owner of Dunster castle. The Gatehouse was constructed as a ruin and is the approach to Conygar Tower.
